ResetMate
Put the board back the way it belongs.
What is ResetMate?
ResetMate is a chess-setup puzzle game. All 32 pieces start scattered at random across the board, and your job is to put every piece back on its correct starting square in as few moves as possible. There is no checkmate, no capturing, and no chess rules to learn first — it is a fun way to learn where the pieces actually go.
Game modes
- Solo — just you and the board.
- CPU Co-op — you and the computer take turns on the same board.
- CPU Competition — race the computer to finish your own 16 pieces.
- 2-Player Co-op — two people on one device, working together.
- 2-Player Competition — White vs Black on one device.
Common questions
How do I move a piece? Tap a piece to pick it up, then tap any square to send it there. Pieces are not limited to chess moves. If another piece is already on that square, the two simply trade places. Tap the same piece again to put it back down.
Where did my hints go? You get two hints per game. Select a piece and tap Hint to outline the square it belongs on. In two-player modes each player gets their own two.
Why can't I move my opponent's pieces any more? In the two competition modes you may move the opponent's pieces up to 10 times per game. Moving your own pieces is always unlimited.
My leaderboard is empty. Scores are stored only on your device and are kept separately for each game mode. Check the mode selector at the top of the Leaderboard screen.
